Machinations

Let’s give you a full report of my wonderful Australia Day train ride home from work.

Strathfield: Guy gets on train with young daughter and younger son. They sit two seats in front of us.

Son proceeds to run up and down the carriage, blowing his horn REALLY FUCKING LOUDLY and carrying on.

Son continues to yell and scream, without much interference from dad, until Granville.

Granville: Guy’s brother is signalled by guy by banging on the window. Guy’s brother tries to enter carriage smoking. CityRail security tries to stop him.

Guy’s brother goes to walk down stairs in carriage and is stopped by transit officers who saw him get on the train smoking.

Transit officers question guy’s brother.

In between Granville and Harris Park: Guy’s brother starts yelling and screaming at transit officers.

Before Parramatta: Transit officers attempt to restrain guy’s brother. Guy attempts to stop them.

Parramatta: Guy’s brother is dragged off train, in cuffs, by transit officers. Guy walks back downstairs to kids. Indian woman with small child moves from upstairs, where altercation is occurring, to the seat in front of us, right behind guy and his spawn.

Parramatta to Schofields: Guy’s son continues to yell, scream, sing, run and push seats over. Guy attempts to open beer bottle on anything hard he can find, nearly breaking the glass in the process. Indian woman moves back upstairs and later gets off train. When I got off at Schofields guy and his kids were still on the train. This leads me to believe that they live in Windsor or Richmond.

At certain points during the trip the kid either swore or talked crap about the other people in the carriage, including us. His father did nothing to restrain him, at times even encouraging him.

At certain points during the trip I wanted to do the following:

Jam the kid’s horn up his arse

Garotte him with the string that held the horn

Punch him in his filthy mouth

Punch his dad

Tell him to STFU

Tell his dad that he needs to be a better parent

Through the child off the train

Seriously, some people should be sterilised at birth. I know that is kinda borderline eugenics but I don’t really fucking care. People who know me know that I freaking love kids but sometimes parents just need to do some actual parenting.

Kids are awesome. It’s the parents I can’t stand.
